You bet Dan DiDio is excited and happy. The Summer Exclusives War begins again, with one heck of a great shot from DC.

For years, the Kubert Brothers have been toiling away at high-profile Marvel projects, while their DC resume included a two-part Adam Strange mini-series and, um, a two-part Adam Strange mini-series. Their father, of course, has been practically synonymous with DC.

Now they are all gathered together under one roof. With DC snagging such talent, I have to wonder -- when are they going to snag Joe Quesada to an exclusive contract?

DC Comics has signed two of the hottest artists in comics to 3-year exclusive agreements: Adam Kubert (Ultimate Fantastic Four, Ultimate X-Men) and Andy Kubert (1602, Origin, Ultimate Iron Man, Ultimate X-Men).

"After making my home at Marvel for the last 15 years — a place that I love and will continue to do so — I get to stretch my wings a bit and tackle the DC icons! I can't wait! I could say that I'm finally going to get to draw all those iconic characters I grew up with. I could say that I sincerely feel my best work is yet to come. It's difficult to put this all into a compact soundbite. So, let me steal a quote from my mom instead: 'What more could a mother want?'"
