I've
noticed something bothersome at the comics shop -- that
I haven't really been buying much, if any, of Marvel lately.
Oh, sure, I love ICON books, and thanks to Carr D'Angelo
reminding me, The Avengers is really good, but it's just
not catching my attention.
And
then suddenly... THIS. Though it's weekly and I'm going
to have to figure something out for my budget on that, this
looks like exactly the kind of story that gets me to pick
up a new book these days -- dealing with familiar heroes,
perhaps, but telling a self-contained story with top-notch
talent that may actually make us all think.
I'm
excited, Marvel. Very excited. And Marvel's absolutely right:
this looks like the kind of book that will get new readers
interested, and tell them just why the rest of us are obsessed
with comics.
