Quicksilver
Takes on Magneto and Black Bolt!
The Only One Left For Him To Anger Is Alan
Moore...
The
"Decimation" event after "House of M"
has given us a few good stories, but the mini-series that
has held the most promise and interest is Son of M, the
most direct follow-up.
Revealed
to be the one who convinced the Scarlet Witch to change
reality, Quicksilver was punished by becoming one of the
depowered mutants. Writer David Hine spent the first issue
dealing with Quicksilver's inability to function as a normal
human being -- heck, with his personality, even with powers
he barely functions as a human being.
The
book took a darker turn as the former Avenger pretty much
betrayed everyone who ever trusted him. With this latest
issue, things will only get worse, and for us that means
good comics. And I'm not just saying that in order to get
Marvel to quote us in their press releases...all in good
time...
From
Marvel:
Quicksilver has stolen the Inhumans’ Terrigen Mists
and he’s looking to restore the damage he caused in
House of M - by using the Mists to restore the powers of
mutants who have lost them. In Son of M #5, Magneto finds
out what Pietro is doing and he is not happy.
Not
only does Quicksilver have to contend with his father, but
Black Bolt and the rest of the Inhumans are on his trail
looking to take their heritage back and make Pietro pay
for his crime.
Son
of M has continued to wow fans and retailers with David
Hine’s incredible profile of a downtrodden Pietro
and the amazing art of Roy Allen Martinez.
ComicFanatic.com
says, “This miniseries has surprised me like few other
comic books have. Writer David Hine and the incredible artistry
of Roy Allan Martinez…have me hooked on this miniseries.”
Don
MacPherson says, “This may be the best thing David
Hine has written for Marvel Comics thus far.”
Do not
miss this penultimate chapter in the further descent of
Pietro into infamy in Son of M #5.
