This
makes more and more sense as a Cartoon Network series. Written
and directed by Alex Winter (yes, Bill S. Preston, Esquire),
this short feels a lot like Winter's Ben 10 live-action
movies for CN. That's a good thing, actually, because the
guy has proven that he can make an exciting (relatively)
low-budget superhero movie that never feels like it's skimping
on effects. Better yet, they've been 100% kid-friendly,
and if there's one thing that Batman: The Brave and
the Bold has taught us, it's that kids LOVE Blue Beetle.
Where's
the next generation of comics fan going to come from? Right
here, man. (At the Smallville panel, it was also
revealed that Blue Beetle and Booster Gold would appear,
as well as both Jaime Reyes and possibly Ted Kord, so if
you like your action a little more CW than CN, that's going
to happen, too.)
