Comic-Con
2010:
DC Universe Online Presentation Saturday Afternoon
We
all know we want it.
We've
been teased by it for at least two years as Jim Lee and
Geoff Johns have hunkered down with designers at Sony Online
Entertainment to create this -- the game none of us could
have possibly dreamed of happening when we were kids and
now coming to PC and PS3 systems. And now they're accepting
Beta registrations. It's almost here... if by almost we
mean we can wait until November 10.
Thanks
to Comic-Con, we don't have to wait. Sort of.
Last
summer, Ric Bretschneider and I got a demo of the game,
and we wanted it then. Sony and DC held back, waiting
to see what City of Heroes was going to do, what
Champions Online was going to do -- and we loved
those games.
Now
they're ready to blow them both away. Brace yourself, people.
Saturday
at 3:30 p.m. in Room 5AB, you're going to want
to see what they have to show you. There will be surprise
guests, and surprises beyond that. I'm not sure what I'm
allowed to say. Just... be there and watch this presentation.
And
remember...
Use
your powers only for good. Unless you're teaming up with
the Joker, because despite the insanely high likelihood
he'll kill you for looking at him funny -- or not funny
-- playing with the Joker has to be positively insane.
