Producer Charlotte Huggins Faces the Center of Fanboy Planet...
Call it the overlooked summer blockbuster, mainly because its title alone may limit the theaters it can play in. Using a proprietary 3-D process, this latest retelling/sequel to Jules Verne's classic novel Journey to the Center of the Earth is meant to be one heck of a ride -- as well as, hopefully, a great plot.
At WonderCon this year, the production team unveiled footage for the first time anywhere, and before the panel and the presentation, Lon Lopez and I ventured into a hospitality suite to talk with the film's producer, Charlotte Huggins. We learned a few things, and not just that she's charming, personable and responsible for Honey, I Shrunk the Audience at Disneyland.
