Shaun Tan's The Lost Thing
It's up for an Academy Award, but that's not the only reason to post this. Shaun Tan has that rare gift to truly tap into a child's world-view -- full of wonder, boundless creativity and imagination, but also intense sadness and melancholy.
We discovered him a few years ago with his book Tales from Outer Suburbia, and his original children's story The Lost Thing is about to be released in the U.S. (published years ago in Australia) as part of a 3-story compendium, Lost & Found. We'll have more news about this soon on the website and on the podcast.
For now, do yourself a favor: watch this. Do yourself a second favor: get his book. You, too, will become a Shaun Tan fan.
