If
you were a child of the eighties, then this summer is for
you. Not only do you get a second Michael Bay Transformers
movie, but you also get a Stephen Sommers version of another
Hasbro favorite, G.I. JOE.
In anticipation
of the eagerly awaited summer blockbuster, Hasbro has produced,
along with the people at Titmouse Studios as well as fan
favorite comics writer Warren Ellis, the newest G.I. JOE
cartoon – G.I. JOE: RESOLUTE.
G.I.
JOE: RESOLUTE is a new web series featuring a brand
new JOE adventure written by Ellis and Executive Produced
by Sam Register. RESOLUTE features all the favorite JOE
characters like Duke, Snake-Eyes and Roadblock, as well
as the evil terrorist organization known as COBRA.
The
new mini-series features a new, stylized animation style
and a more adult-themed storyline sure to be appreciated
by the now grown up fans of the old eighties cartoon. And
let me just say this… you aren’t going to see
a lot of parachutes from shot down vehicles and laser beams
that hit nothing. G.I. JOE RESOLUTE doesn’t
pull any punches. Already in the first episode fans will
witness two G.I. JOE mainstays taking a permanent dirt nap.
Airing
on www.adultswim.com,
G.I.JOE:RESOLUTE is a collection of fun and action
packed JOE animation. These episodes are broken down to
ten 5-minute episodes and one 10-minute finale. Following
the first episode on April 17, subsequent installments will
be posted on the Adult Swim website leading up to a full
presentation of the entire series.
This
finale will be broadcast on Adult Swim April 25 at midnight.
This televised event will not only feature all episodes
seen online, but will be the first time fans can watch the
final 10 minutes of the G.I. Joe: Resolute saga. All episodes,
including the finale, will be available to view online after
this airing.
The webisodes are also interactive with
Hasbro’s own JOE website, www.gijoeresolute.com as
the end of each show features a code word that you can enter
on the JOE site to unlock various intel about the show.
G.I. JOE: RESOLUTE is an awesome re-launch
of the G.I. JOE franchise and is more than enough to rekindle
the passion old JOE fans had for the property as well as
entice new fans as well. So be sure to go to www.adultswim.com
